When the show was in town there was a little girl who was totally in love with “Les Mis”. She was listening to the songs and singing them at home as often as possible. So one day her mother surprised her with 2 tickets for the show! As you can imagine she was totally thrilled!
At the night of the performance in the theatre she was enchanted by the special atmosphere and she couldn’t wait to see her most favorite song “One Day More” performed live in front of her! The show started and she forgot everything around her.
During act 1 after the first excitement was gone she suddenly realized that she had to go to the restrooms as soon as possible. A few minutes before the final song of act 1 the little girl couldn’t help herself and left the auditorium! On her way back, expecting to see “One Day More” live, she was stopped by an usherette.
There she was, the sweet 13 year old girl, now being told that “it’s not allowed” to go back into the auditorium during the show! Sadly she had to wait outside and listen through closed doors while the people where singing her favorite song!
When I heard the story I felt so sorry for her!
That’s a story I always remember, when I’m listening to the music, seeing the show live or talking about it! And it is a running gag: don’t forget to see the loo before act 1 or you can’t stay for one day more!

Das Theaterpersonal ist zu beglückwünschen. Wer während der Vorstellung das Auditorium verlässt (und damit das restliche Publikum stört), verwirkt jedes Recht, in den Saal zurückzukehren und das Publikum damit noch ein zweites Mal zu belästigen. Die Voraussetzungen jeder guten Musiktheateraufführung sind absolute Stille und Konzentration. Mitleid ist da völlig unangebracht (es sei denn, das Mädchen hatte irgendwelche gesundheitlichen Probleme); man muss auch von Kindern die notwendige Disziplin erwarten können, sonst haben sie im Theater (noch) nichts zu suchen.
Im Raimund Theater und Ronacher darf man allerdings wieder in die Show zurück wenn man am WC war.
Im Theater an der Wien, Staatsoper und Volksoper erst wieder in der Pause…
Und wenn man zu spät kommt muss man im Raimund und im Ronacher ca 10 min warten so weit ich weiß…und im TaW eben auch erst in der Pause…
Dies war vor 21, 22 Jahren. Das damals 13-jährige Mädchen müsste jetzt so um die Mitte 30 sein. Da hat sie mit Sicherheit genug
Gelegenheiten gehabt, sich das nocheinmal live anzuschauen ohne dringenden Bedürftnis.
