“Lying Cheating Bastard”, ein Theaterstück von Nicholas Hammond und “Australian Magician of the Year” James Galea, das im kleinen Old Fitzroy Theatre in Darlinghurst, Australien, seine Premiere feierte, hat das Zeug, zum Hollywood-Blockbuster zu werden. Davon sind zumindest die Autoren überzeugt, und das meint auch Musicalkomponist Stephen Schwartz (”Godspell”, “Wicked”). Er lud Hammond und Galea zu einem Workshop in die USA, sieht er doch in dem Stoff des Stücks die Chance, endlich seinen Plan verwirklichen zu können, einen Musicalfilm über einen jungen Magier zu produzieren. Wenn es nach Schwartz geht, soll Galea die Hauptrolle übernehmen und Hammond das Theaterstück in ein Filmscript umformen.
