60 Jahre wurde Patti Labelle unlängst alt, Timeless Journey hat sie ihre jüngste CD genannt, die Anfang Mai erschienen ist. Lange hat man von Patti nichts gehört, doch mit “Timeless Journey” beweist sie, dass sie es noch immer drauf hat, Soul-Klassiker auf unvergleichliche Weise zu zaubern. Mag sein, dass sie in die Single-Charts, die großteils von Rappern und Teenagern dominiert werden, nicht mehr reinkommt, aber sagen wir mal in einer besseren Welt wäre ein Song wie “2 Steps away” ein weltweiter Nummer 1-Hit. Ein Lied, das man auch noch in 20 Jahren spielen wird, ein Songjuwel, das für mich mit Sicherheit zu den besten Songs dieses Jahres zählt.
“Timeless Journey” rangiert in den USA-R&B-Charts in den Top 10 und sollte in keiner CD-Sammlung fehlen!
