Es war einmal … ein Junge, der mit einem Film für lange lange Jahre zum Filmstar per se avancierte. Sein Name: Wil Wheaton. Sein Durchbruch: Stand by me (1986), ein Film von Rob Reiner nach einer literarischen Vorlage von Stephen King. Mittlerweile hat es Wheaton auf bis dato 46 Filme gebracht, auf jede Menge Gastauftritte in bekannten TV-Serien, er ist nach wie vor gut im Geschäft … und er ist einer der prominentesten Blogger dieses Universums.
Wil Wheatons Weblogg bietet einen interessanten Einblick in das tägliche Leben eines “Prominenten”. Wer würde schon annehmen, dass ein Filmstar eine Art Tagebuch öffentlich zugänglich im Netz lanciert. Wheaton macht es, und was er schreibt, kann manchmal auch als wichtige Botschaft an alle seine Leser, vor allem seine amerikanischen Fans, verstanden werden:
