Am 8. November 2007 findet im Wiener Odeon Theater die Premiere der Tanzperformance “the beggar and the bird” statt. Buch und Choreographie stammen von der Neuseeländerin Amber Stephens. Das Konzept der Show lässt sich wie folgt zusammenfassen:

The work explores the interaction between movement and voice, while presenting an insight into the nature of power and the transformation of self identity. Amber Stephens, Natalie Jean-Marain and Albert Kessler are performers who have found a unique relationship between voice and dance. Through a deep working connection, and improvisation they have identified a form of story telling which can arise naturally through patterns of vocal play and movement.
Natalie Jean-Marain composed the original score exclusively for “The Beggar & The Bird”. Her primary electronic soundtrack is then detailed and layered by analog instruments playing live on the night of the performance. With minimal media, her idea is to create a
“sound-space” which initiates the audience into the story on an internal level.

Albert Kessler ist Absolvent des Performing Center Austria. Er wirkte unter anderem in der Volksopern-Produktion von “West Side Story” mit, war bei “Musical Christmas in Vienna” der Vereinigten Bühnen Wien als Tänzer engagiert und bei den Perfoming Center Austria-Shows «Verliebte & Verrückte”, «Magic To Do” und «Fleisch & Flesh” zu sehen. Am 10. November steht Albert Kessler mit seiner Show “Musical & More” auf der Bühne des Wiener Szenelokals Cenario.
