»Night Side Songs« explores the intimacy of illness, mortality, and the incredible dignity of caregivers through the story of Yasmine Holly, a fictional character informed by interviews with real doctors, hospital staff, and patients, many from right here in Philadelphia. »Night Side Songs« is a musical convergence which reflects and celebrates Philly’s »eds and meds« community with humor, grace, and profound empathy. The production will tour local hospitals, community centers, and places of worship for two weeks before its run at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. Directed by Artistic Director Taibi Magar. Wieder eine interessante Folge des »Bühneneingangs«, in der beispielsweise eine Ensemblevertretungssitzung im Theater in der Josefstadt unter der Leitung von Thomas Drozda Erwähnung findet. Es wird auch kurz angesprochen, dass über das Theater berichtende Journalisten nicht selten »ihre Theaterdirektoren« (also besondere Lieblinge) haben oder generell ja nicht zu negativ berichten, weil sonst: Hausverbot. Im System gefangen sind sie. Man kennt das.

»Hamilton« debuts on a Billboard ranking this week that it’s never reached before. The cast recording opens at No. 44 on the Top Streaming Albums chart, which lists the most-streamed full lengths and EPs throughout America.
[…] The fact that a Broadway cast recording is one of the 50 most streamed albums in America is noteworthy, as such a performance by a theatrical release is extremely rare.
Only four projects debut on the Top Streaming Albums chart this week, and »Hamilton« is the lowest-ranking of the bunch. Miranda’s masterpiece is beaten by Central Cee’s »Can’t Rush Greatness«, Teddy Swim’s »I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Part 2«, and Kane Brown’s »The High Road«. As it lands on the Top Streaming Albums ranking, »Hamilton« is also performing exceptionally well on the three other Billboard tallies it reaches.
The set is steady at No. 1 on the Cast Albums ranking, where it has now spent 415 of its 488 weeks on the list at No. 1.

Andreas Gergen, der »Geschichtenerzähler«, erzählt einem Journalisten wieder ein Gschichtl. Man schätzt ihn ja gerade für seinen Innovationsgeist beim Arbeiten gegen das Klischee auf dem von ihm angesprochenen Gebiet (siehe »I Am From Austria« und – ja, man sollte es kaum glauben, aber auch da hat er sich mit seinem Willen, mehr queere Darstellung auf die Bühne zu bringen, und das vor allem sinnvoll, nicht im Zaum halten können – »Mamma Mia!«). Man könnte freilich auch meinen, dass er ein bisschen Nachhilfeunterricht braucht, was das Thema »queere Personen im Musiktheater« betrifft. Aber er meint das sicher nicht so. Oder sagen wir so: Er meint es so, wie er auch die Meinung vertreten hat in einem oder auch mehreren Interviews, »I Am From Austria« wäre eine Revueoperette. Und das muss man so ernst nehmen wie ungefähr 100 Prozent dessen, was Lugner (Gott hab ihn selig) immer in den »Seitenblicken« von sich gegeben hat.
