Späten Erfolg gab es bei den diesjährigen “Olivier Awards” für die längst abgesetzte West-End-Produktion des Rockmusicals “Spring Awakening”.

Gleich vier Preise gingen an die Show von Duncan Sheik und Steven Sater. Aneurin Barnard wurde als “Best Actor in a Musical (”Spring Awakening”)” ausgezeichnet, Iwan Rheon bekam den Preis als “Best Supporting Performance in a Musical or Entertainment (Spring Awakening”)” zugesprochen und Brian Ronan entschied die Kategorie “Best Sound Design (”Spring Awakening”)” für sich. Der Hauptpreis in der Kategorie Musical: “Best New Musical” ging ebenfalls an “Spring Awakening”.
