42 neue Produktionen feierten in der vergangenen Saison am Broadway Premiere, davon waren 14 Musicals (12 neue Musicals und 2 Revivals). Von den 25 Sprechtheaterstücken waren 16 neue Produktionen - das gabs zuletzt 1986/87.
Am 3. Mai 2011 wurden die Nominierungen für die diesjährigen Tony Awards bekannt gegeben, und es läuft auf ein Duell der beiden Shows “The Book of Mormon” mit 14 Nominierungen und “The Scottsboro Boys” mit 12 Nominierungen hinaus. Mit 9 Nominierungen liegt das Revival von “Anything Goes” auf Platz 3. Abgeschlagen: “Sister Act” mit 5 Nominierungen, keine Nominierung etwa für Frank Wildhorns “Wonderland”.
